Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Academy, in collaboration with the e-Committee of the Supreme Court of India, organized a One-Day Training Programme on "eCourts" for Advocates in Jammu Province at the J&K Judicial Academy in Janipur, Jammu. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Member of the Governing Committee for J&K Judicial Academy, with Anoop Sharma, Registrar Computers, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, and U.K. Jalali, Senior Advocate, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, as resource persons. During the inauguration, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani highlighted the significance of the e-Courts Project, a Mission Mode Project of the Government of India aimed at transforming the Indian Judiciary through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) implementation. He emphasized its role in providing a litigant-centric, accessible, and efficient justice delivery system. Y.P. Bourney, Director of J&K Judicial Academy, provided an overview of the programme, emphasizing the role of technology in expediting legal proceedings and enhancing access to justice. He highlighted the accessibility of e-Courts, particularly for individuals in remote areas or unable to attend court physically. The technical sessions, chaired by Anoop Sharma and U.K. Jalali, covered various aspects of the e-Courts Project, including e-filing, management tools, and advocacy skills. Advocates actively participated, sharing experiences and raising queries, which were addressed by the resource persons. The training programme aimed to empower advocates with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital platforms and effectively represent their clients in the evolving legal landscape. |
