Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education, marked the joyous occasion of Basant Panchmi Mahotsav 2024 at the open-air theatre of Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu. The event commenced with the lighting of the Traditional Lamp by Chief Guest Davinder Chadha, Head Pujari of Durga Bhawan Jammu, along with esteemed guests Sh. V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Mukesh Singh, Senior Media Person of Jammu & Kashmir, J.K. Raina, Freelance Producer Director, and Dr. Anju Dogra from the Health Department, Jammu & Kashmir Government, gracing the occasion as Guests of Honor. The celebration began with a soulful rendition of welcome songs, including "Jai Jai Saraswati Maa," "Hye Sharde Maa," "Aja Vishvan Vo," "Saraswati Maa Tum Hi Se Hai Sara Sansar," and "Maa Saraswati Basant Ka Tohyar Sabke Jeevan Mai Aye Sada Bahar," setting the tone for the auspicious festival. Chief Guest Sh. Davinder Chadha highlighted the significance of Basant Panchami, which heralds the arrival of spring and is celebrated with fervor across the country. He emphasized the importance of worshiping Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, language, music, and arts, on this auspicious day. Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, extended warm greetings on the occasion and elucidated the aims and objectives of the programme. He underscored the NGO's commitment to using musical plays, theatre, and drama as powerful mediums to generate awareness about various social issues. The event featured captivating musical plays written, produced, and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, with music assistance from Mr. Raju Bajgal. As part of the celebration, special renditions of "Saraswati Vandana - Var De Vina" were performed by artists and recorded for dissemination on social media platforms to reach a wider audience. M.C. Kotwal, Secretary of BLSKS, conveyed his greetings for Basant Panchami, emphasizing the significance of the arrival of the spring season and the worship of Goddess Saraswati. The event witnessed mesmerizing performances by singers, musicians, actors, and students of Music and Computer institutes, including Usha Raina, Mr. Raju Bajgal, Sanjeev Kumar, Chahat Chadha, Bindia Okheda, Vandana Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar Sodhi, Renu Bala, Naiya Digra, and many others.
