Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: The Indian Red Cross Society, J&K-UT, under the esteemed leadership of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha, President of IRCS, J&K-UT, and under the supervision of Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, carried out three impactful activities today, focusing on promoting health, safety, and community welfare. Drug De-Addiction Awareness Programme at Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu: In collaboration with the Office of the Excise Commissioner, Jammu, IRCS conducted a comprehensive Drug De-addiction program at Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. The event aimed to educate students about the dangers of drug addiction and encourage them to contribute positively to society. Smt. Kanchan Devi from IRCS elaborated on the adverse effects of substance abuse and emphasized avenues for seeking help. Additionally, a first-aid awareness session, with a focus on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), was conducted for the students. Ms. Vironica Marwah coordinated the event. First-Aid Awareness Programme at Warehouse in collaboration with RTO, Jammu: In line with Road Safety Month, IRCS, in collaboration with the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Jammu, organized a First-Aid awareness programme for commercial vehicle drivers at Warehouse, Jammu. Dr. Kavita Nijhon and Smt. Kanchan Devi imparted essential first aid skills to drivers, covering CPR, wound care, and handling emergencies, aiming to reduce road casualties. First-Aid Training at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu: An eight-day First-Aid training programme was organized for commercial vehicle drivers and youth of the society. Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Dr. Asia Noor conducted theoretical and practical sessions covering disaster management, first aid techniques, and emergency handling. The programme concluded with Sh. Rohit Khajuria interacting with participants and issuing provisional certificates. These initiatives by IRCS, J&K-UT, underscore its commitment to community welfare and health promotion, contributing to a safer and healthier society. |
