Early Times Report DARHAL, Feb 17: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal, successfully concluded a road safety awareness program as part of the Viksit Bharat @2047 initiative. The observance, aligned with the Ministry of Road and Highways' Road Safety Month from January 15th to February 14th, aimed to instill road safety consciousness among students and equip them with the necessary skills to navigate roads safely. Throughout the month, a series of enlightening lectures were conducted, engaging students, faculty, and the administration. Under the guidance of Dr. M Saleem Wani, Coordinator IQAC, and Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, NSS Programme Officer, the program emphasized various safety measures and responsible road behavior. Esteemed experts in the field shared insights on road safety regulations, defensive driving techniques, and pedestrian best practices, fostering a comprehensive understanding among the participants. The culminating event, chaired by Principal Prof. Musaraf Shah, witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Anzar Ahmed, and Dr. Asad Imran. Principal Prof. Musaraf Shah expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Road and Highways for their support, emphasizing the importance of nurturing road safety awareness among the youth. The successful observance not only heightened awareness among students but also nurtured a sense of responsibility towards ensuring safer roads for all.
