Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 17: In a significant stride towards skill empowerment, Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu orchestrated a Certificate Distribution Function today, commemorating the successful culmination of Basic Skilling Training in Tailoring (Darzi) for two batches. Additionally, the institution inaugurated skill training sessions under the prestigious PM Vishwakarma Scheme, focusing on the Carpenter (Suthar) trade. Under the guidance of esteemed Secretary of Skill Development Department, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan (IAS), the PM Vishwakarma Scheme training was impeccably executed. The ceremony witnessed the distribution of certificates to the diligent trainees by Director of Skill Development Department (SDD), Sudershan Kumar (JKAS), in the esteemed presence of Leena Padha (JKAS), Mission Director of Skill Mission J&K, alongside the esteemed Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu, Er. Arun Bangotra, and G.M Bhat, Joint Director of Skill Development Department, along with the dedicated faculty members. Principal Er. Arun Bangotra cordially welcomed the distinguished guests and trainees, shedding light on the scheme's fundamental objectives. The PM Vishwakarma Scheme aims to honor artisans through certification, offer basic training spanning five to seven days, advanced training of 15 days or more, stipends, and provision of modern voucher toolkits worth Rs 15,000, among other benefits like soft loans and marketing support to foster business expansion. Addressing the gathering, Sudershan Kumar, Director of Skill Development Department, elaborated on the scheme's vision, emphasizing its role in empowering craftsmen and artisans, thereby bolstering the nation's economy. He lauded the efforts of Principal Er. Arun Bangotra and his team for seamlessly conducting the training sessions under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. Leena Padha, Mission Director of Skill Mission J&K, urged the trainees to harness their skills to establish their enterprises, thereby contributing to the nation's economic prosperity. Expressing gratitude towards the college administration for the successful training program, several trainees conveyed their appreciation. The event also saw the presence of notable figures such as Er. Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Superintendent, Raj Kumar, HOD Mechanical Engineering, Manjeet Singh, HOD Electrical Engineering, Surekha Rani, Sanjogita Mehra, Sandeep Singh, and Amit Kapoor, Instructors of Government Polytechnic Jammu, alongside various craftsmen.
