BSNL announces free upgrade of copper landline connections in Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri
2/17/2024 9:55:43 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 17: In a move set to revolutionize telecommunications services in the regions of Jammu, Udhampur, and Rajouri, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has unveiled a pioneering initiative to transition all existing Copper Landline (LL) Connections to advanced Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology. This transformation comes as part of BSNL's unwavering commitment to delivering top-tier services to its esteemed customers.
Under this initiative, valued customers in the specified areas will experience a significant enhancement in internet speeds and reliability. The upgrade to Fiber-to-the-Home technology promises faster broadband speeds and more robust connectivity, ensuring an unparalleled digital experience for users across Jammu, Udhampur, and Rajouri Telecomm Areas.
General Manager of BSNL's Business Area in Jammu, Sh. Dharmendra Yadav, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "We are thrilled to offer this complimentary upgrade to Fiber-to-the-Home for our esteemed existing customers. This initiative underscores our dedication to providing the utmost service excellence. With Fiber-to-the-Home technology, customers can relish faster speeds and steadfast connectivity, empowering them to fully embrace the digital realm."
Crucially, this upgrade comes at no additional charge, and there will be no alteration to existing Landline Numbers, ensuring a seamless transition for subscribers.
Yadav also highlighted the affordability of the fibre plans, starting from Rs 299 in urban areas and Rs 249 in rural areas. Subscribers can select from a range of fibre plans offering speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 300 Mbps, coupled with unlimited data and round-the-clock unlimited calls (Local + STD) to any network. Additionally, customers will have access to a variety of free bundled OTT and value-added services at highly competitive rates.
Explaining the rationale behind the transition, Sh. Yadav noted, "Existing landline services relied on copper wires, which are susceptible to wear and tear. Fiber, on the other hand, represents a modern and dependable mode of delivering hassle-free telecommunication services."
Approximately 15,000 existing subscribers in Jammu, Udhampur, and Rajouri Telecomm Areas stand to benefit from the Copper to FTTH Conversion scheme. The upgrade process will be efficiently managed by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited authorized channel partners, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited remains steadfast in its commitment to providing reliable and budget-friendly telecommunications services to customers nationwide. Initiatives such as this further solidify its position as a frontrunner in the telecommunications industry.
Existing landline subscribers seeking assistance or further details can reach out to the Sub-Divisional Engineers of BSNL in their respective areas, utilizing the provided contact information for seamless support and guidance.
