Samba police apprehends drug peddler, seizes heroin | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 17: In a proactive move against illicit drug trade, Samba Police made a significant breakthrough by apprehending a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh on February 17. The operation led to the recovery of heroin, commonly known as "chitta," from the possession of the perpetrator. During a routine vehicle checking duty at Naka Koulpur, a police party from Police Station Ramgarh grew suspicious of an individual's movements. Upon closer inspection and frisking, the police discovered a significant quantity of heroin-like narcotic substance in the possession of the said individual. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Balkar Singh, son of Charan Singh, a resident of Barota Camp, Ramgarh. In response to this unlawful activity, a case under FIR No. 15/2024 U/S 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him at Police Station Ramgarh. The police have initiated further investigation into the matter to unearth any potential links to larger drug networks.
