Jammu, Feb 27: Former Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas, along with Chief Spokesperson of BJP Mahila Morcha J&KUT, Ritika Trehan, Mahant Rameshwar, DDC member Sharda Bhau, and Gaurav Khajuria, spearheaded a significant event at Akhnoor, where Vishwakarma Certificates were distributed among beneficiaries. The program, organized by Gaurav, witnessed enthusiastic participation from artisans and dignitaries alike, with a hearty lunch arranged for all attendees. Addressing the gathering, Manhas highlighted the pivotal role of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in encouraging and safeguarding the interests of artisans and craftsmen across the nation. Emphasizing inclusivity, Manhas underscored the scheme's aim to support artisans who may face challenges in sustaining traditional businesses. He urged eligible individuals to avail themselves of the scheme's benefits, including financial support and skill enhancement opportunities. Reflecting on Prime Minister Modi's commitment to the welfare of marginalized communities, Manhas reiterated the scheme's alignment with the 'Antyodaya' principle. The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, is envisioned to preserve traditional skills, empower artisans, and contribute to India's cultural heritage conservation. Ritika Trehan, in her address, lauded the indispensable contribution of Vishwakarmas to the nation's daily life. She commended the government's partnership in elevating the status and prosperity of artisans, emphasizing the scheme's comprehensive support for various artisanal trades. Trehan highlighted the scheme's focus on promoting local products and stressed the importance of advocating for indigenous craftsmanship. Underlining the convergence of technology and tradition showcased at events like the G-20 craft bazaar, Trehan urged citizens to prioritize locally made products. She emphasized that vocal support for local goods is not just a responsibility but a pathway to global recognition for indigenous craftsmanship. The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, with an allocated budget of Rs 13,000 crore, aims to invigorate traditional trades, strengthen the Guru-Shishya tradition, and integrate artisans into global value chains.
