JKCCA organizes National Exhibition of Paintings, Drawings, Sculptures at Amritsar

JAMMU, Mar 4: Tajinder Chhina, the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony, inaugurated a National Exhibition of Paintings, Drawings and Sculptures of Women Artists of India at the Central Hall Art Gallery of Indian Academy of Fine Arts (AIFA), MMM Road, Amritsar, today. The exhibition has been organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu to commemorate International Women's Day. Dr. P S Grover, Hony. Gen. Secretary, Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar, was the guest of honour whereas Dr. A K Dixit, Senior Artist from Delhi & Sr. Advisor, JKCCA was the special guest on this occasion. The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was marked with the presence of O P Sharma, Founder Director JKCCA. The art works of twenty eight artists have been displayed in the exhibition. A large number of artists, intellectuals and art lovers were present in the inaugural ceremony.
In her address, the chief guest Tajinder Chhina appreciated the initiative taken by J&K Centre for Creative Arts, Jammu to acknowledge the role and contribution of the women in all the spheres of life, particularly in the field of creative arts. She said that AIFA supports such initiatives where the organizations come forward for the purpose of promotion of art & culture in a big way at greater level. Guest of honour Dr. P S Grover expressing his views during the inaugural ceremony, said that JKCCA has become one of the leading non- governmental organization to contribute in the growth, promotion and preservation of art, culture and literature in the region. Dr. A K Dixit also expressed his views on this occasion.
According to Sh. O P Sharma, Founder Director, JKCCA, the exhibition could display various aspects of the trends and techniques being practiced by the artists of the country to express their creative ideas and feelings. The works displayed in the exhibition explore the possible approaches of art & artists, in the field of art being created at various places in the country. He said that JKCCA has been working since 1999, and has veen contributing in the field of art, culture and literature, it has conducted a number of programmes, including state, national and international art exhibitions and camps, in and outside the state under the patronage of Sh. Kewal K Sharma, the Founder President of JKCCA.
The women artists of the country participating in this show include include senior and young artists like Minu Dey, Kolkatta; Pratima Singh, Lucknow; Prof. Saroj Rani, Varanasi, Dr. Shagufta Khanam, Lucknow, Dr. Rekha Rani Sharma, Gorakhpur, Dr. Asha Anand, Meerut, Dr. Rashmi Saxena, Agra, Dr. Mamta Verma, Prayajraj, Gaytri and Mansi, Hoshiarpur, Dr. Rohita Sharma, Associate Professor, LPU, Jalandhar, Inderpreet Kaur, Indu Sudhir, Richa Bhandari, and Kashish Aggarwal, Amritsar, Shakshi Bajaj, Dr. Rita Kashyap, Vibha Singh, Shveta Gupta Kansal, Delhi, Manisha Manocha, Noida; Anuradha Devi, Shivani Koul Bhat, Simran Dogra, Reecha Gupta, Jammu & Kashmir, Archana Choudhary, Madhubani, Bihar, Madhu Sharma, Indore, Kamlesh Dhiman (HP) and Dr. Romika Bhasin, Bhopal.
Prominent among those who attended the function included K S Gill, Dharminder Sharma, Sukhpal Singh, Brijesh Jolly, Indu Sudhir, Gaytri, Mansi, Dr. Rohita Sharma, Kavi Ckohan, Kamlesh Dhiman and others. The exhibition will remain open till 6th March, 2924 between 11 AM and 7 PM daily.
