Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: In a bid to champion the rights of locals and restore their privileges, Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit unveiled its "Pahale Adhikaar Phir Sarakaar" campaign, signaling a resurgence of grassroots empowerment. The party declared its intent to embark on a Jan-Sampark Yatra across all five Lok Sabha constituencies of the region, commencing from Srinagar on March 9. State Chief Manish Sahni, addressing a press conference at the Press Club of Jammu, emphasized the imperative to address the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Sahni highlighted the division of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state and the unmet promises of peace, development, employment, education, and health made to the populace following the constitutional change. With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, Sahni underscored the opportunity for the electorate to hold accountable those who failed to deliver on their commitments. The Jan-Sampark Yatra, under the banner of "Pehele Adhikaar Phir Sarkar," aims to galvanize support at the grassroots level, starting from Srinagar's Press Enclave on March 9 and cascading through district levels, with a subsequent leg scheduled in Jammu on March 16. Responding to queries about the party's electoral participation, Sahni affirmed the readiness of Shiv Sena candidates to contest the elections, pending approval from the party's high command. The focus remains steadfast on advocating for the restoration of local rights and addressing the aspirations of the people. The press conference witnessed the presence of notable party members, including President of the Mehila Wing, Meenakshi Chhibber, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, President of Kamghar Raj Singh, and Organiser Imran Shekh, signaling a unified commitment to the cause. As Shiv Sena initiates this campaign and yatra, it heralds a renewed vigor in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, driven by the pursuit of equitable representation and empowerment for its residents. |
