UDHAMPUR, Mar 5: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today inaugurated a one-day Job Fair at the District Employment & Counseling Centre. The event saw the participation of several companies, including M/S LIC of India, SBI Life, M/S Rajshree Automobiles, M/S Pukhraj Health Care, M/S Aditya Birla Capital, M/S Star Health & Allied Insurance Co., M/S J&T International Solutions, M/S Agile Herbals, M/S URBAN Money, M/S A.R. Systems, and M/S PRAMERICA Life Insurance, among others, providing a common platform for job seekers and private sector job providers. More than 250 unemployed youth from different corners of District Udhampur participated in the Job Fair. As many as 140 job seekers were shortlisted by the participating companies. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged the youth to seize the opportunity provided by the Job fair and avail different self-employment schemes, including Mission Youth, and other government initiatives. She emphasized the importance of skill training, self-employment, and exploring opportunities in the private sector beyond traditional government jobs. Earlier, Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director Employment Udhampur, welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and provided an overview of the participating companies. Several government departments, such as Agriculture and Horticulture, also took part in the Job Fair. The government functionaries enlightened attendees about self-employment schemes offered by their respective departments. Later, the DC handed over a sanction letter to a beneficiary of the Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI) Scheme under Mission Yout. |
