NSS Winter Camp valedictory function held at GDC Sidhra

JAMMU, Mar 9: The valedictory function of the weeklong NSS Winter Camp at GDC Sidhra resonated with enthusiasm and achievement as students and faculty came together to celebrate the culmination of a fruitful endeavor. Prof. (Dr.) G. S Rakwal, the esteemed Principal of the College, graced the occasion as the guest of honor, adding prestige to the event. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and spirit. Prof. Deepa Kak, adeptly guided the proceedings, setting the tone for a memorable gathering.
Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS PO, extended a warm welcome and provided an overview of the camp's activities, which included campus beautification, medical camps, sports, yoga sessions, poster making competitions, extension lectures, and cultural programs. The event was punctuated by vibrant performances by the students, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm. Ambika Sharma's dance performance, Kajal and Aswali Devi's folk dance, Syed Muzamil's activity feedback, and Moksh Bharadwaj's rendition of the NSS song added color and energy to the proceedings.
A highlight of the function was the prize distribution ceremony, where Ambika and Syed Muzammil were recognized as the best NSS volunteers. Moksh Bharadwaj and Ambika Sharma received accolades for their outstanding poster presentations. All volunteers were honored with certificates of appreciation and mementos for their dedicated service. In his address, Prof. (Dr.) G. S Rakwal commended the hard work of the NSS volunteers and urged them to continue their noble efforts. He emphasized the importance of community service and encouraged students to uphold values of truth, kindness, and honesty in their endeavors.
