JAMMU, Mar 9: Government Degree College Kunjwani / Sainik Colony came alive with vibrant celebrations as it commemorated International Women's Day. The event, dedicated to honoring and appreciating the resilience and strength of women worldwide, served as a platform to advocate for gender equality and women's empowerment.
Dr. Manisha Sarup Kohli, the principal of the college, delivered an impassioned address emphasizing the significance of creating an inclusive environment where every woman is valued and respected irrespective of her background. She underscored the universality of the day, stressing that it transcends borders, groups, and organizations, and belongs to all collectively. Dr. Kohli called for a world where every woman and girl can pursue their aspirations without hindrance or discrimination.
The celebrations featured various engaging activities and discussions led by the college students. Through compelling PowerPoint presentations centered around the theme of this year's International Women's Day, "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," students shared their perspectives on women empowerment and the current societal landscape. Prof. Baljinder Kour, Convener of the Cultural Committee, played a pivotal role in coordinating the program, ensuring its smooth execution.
