One-week residential program on “Skill development in Electronics” commences at SMVDU

Katra, Mar 11: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra has inaugurated a one-week residential program on “Skill Development in Electronics (Hardware, Software, and Devices)” from March 11th to 15th, 2024. Organized by the School of Electronics & Communication Engineering, the program aims to address the practical requirements of real-world projects, particularly in the startup ecosystem.
Under the project RP-128, funded by the Government of J&K, the program is coordinated by Prof. Kumud Ranjan Jha, Mr. Ashish Suri, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, and Dr. Neeraj Tripathi. Its primary objective is to enhance technical proficiency and elevate the competencies of professionals in the field of Electronics.
A unique aspect of this program is its focus on direct engagement with distinguished professors, industry experts, and government representatives. This interaction provides participants with a holistic understanding, merging theoretical concepts with practical insights from leaders in academia, industry, and public service.
With diverse participation from various parts of J&K and Rajasthan, the program’s inauguration ceremony witnessed esteemed personalities including Prof. Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor; Prof. Kumud Ranjan Jha, Dean of Engineering; and Prof. Neeraj Sharma, expert speaker from IIT (BHU) Varanasi.
In his address, Prof. Pragati Kumar emphasized the importance of exploring potential opportunities for startups. Prof. Kumud Ranjan Jha stressed the need to enhance skills to address societal needs, while Mr. Ashish Suri highlighted the significance of the program.
The program features expert speakers from renowned institutions such as IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IGDTUW Delhi, JKEDI, NIT Allahabad, GKV Haridwar, CU Jammu, BBAU Lucknow, and DIAT Pune, along with industry representatives. It is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry requirements through hands-on projects.
The program coordinators extend their gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Registrar of SMVDU for their kind permission to organize this skill development initiative. Through such endeavors, SMVDU remains committed to nurturing talent and fostering innovation in the field of Electronics.
