GGM Sc College hosts seminar on overseas career opportunities

JAMMU, Mar 12: In a bid to enlighten students about international career avenues, GGM Science College in Jammu organized a comprehensive seminar focusing on opportunities in Australia, Canada, and the United States. Held under the aegis of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell in collaboration with IDP Education Jammu, the event aimed to guide undergraduate and postgraduate students, particularly those in semester VI, towards pursuing global career prospects.
The seminar, which took place on March 12th, 2024, was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and Dr. Vandana Khajuria. Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma, Convener of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell, initiated the proceedings with a warm welcome to the attendees.
Abhishek Sharma, Branch Manager of IDP Education Jammu, served as the resource person, shedding light on various aspects of studying abroad, including eligibility criteria, scholarships, internships, and post-study work opportunities. He emphasized the growing interest among youth for international migration in pursuit of career growth.
During the interactive session, Sharma and his team engaged with students, addressing their queries and providing optimistic guidance regarding their future plans. Notably, IDP Education Jammu, with its fifty years of experience, offers free services and guidance to students aspiring to study overseas. Serving as the sole IELTS exam conducting agency in Jammu, IDP facilitates direct consultations with representatives from Australia, Canada, and the United States. The seminar witnessed a significant turnout, with numerous students actively participating and benefiting from the informative discussions. The coordination of the event was handled efficiently by committee members including Prof. Kiran Bala, Prof. Sunita Kumari, Prof. Arun Sharma, Prof. Sheetu Raina, and Prof. Ameeq R. Choudhary.
The session concluded on a high note with a formal vote of thanks extended by Prof. Kiran Bala, marking the event's success in providing valuable insights into overseas career opportunities for students of GGM Science College, Jammu.
