Police intercepts 86 bovine animal vehicles in night operation at Ban Toll Plaza

JAMMU, Mar 12: In a significant crackdown on illegal transportation of cattle, the Police Party of PS Nagrota laid a special Naka at Ban Toll Plaza, intercepting five vehicles in the intervening night. A total of 86 bovine animals were rescued in the operation. Details of the intercepted vehicles and their cargos are as follows:
A truck bearing registration No. JK02AE-5847, driven by Tarukh, was intercepted. Loaded with 22 bovine animals, the driver, accused of illegal transportation, was arrested on the spot.
Another truck bearing Registration No. JK0AL-3987, driven by Saddam Hussain, was intercepted, carrying 17 bovine animals.
A Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK19A-2256, driven by Manu Ali, was stopped, loaded with 04 bovine animals. The driver was arrested for illegal transportation.
A vehicle Cantor with registration No. JK02DE-7351, loaded with 18 bovine animals, managed to flee the scene before authorities could apprehend the driver.
Similarly, another vehicle Cantor bearing registration No. JK19A-2658, loaded with 25 bovine animals, escaped due to the cover of darkness.
In response to the intercepted vehicles, the following cases have been registered:
FIR No. 81/2024 under U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA
FIR No. 82/2024 under U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA
FIR No. 83/2024 under U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA
FIR No. 84/2024 under U/S 188IPC 11 PCA
FIR No. 85/2024 under U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA at Police Station Nagrota, with investigations underway.
The successful operation signifies a significant step in curbing illegal transportation of cattle in the region. The situation is reported to be normal, with authorities continuing their vigilance to maintain law and order.
