Samba, Mar 17: In an unwavering commitment to combat the rampant drug trade, the District Police Samba recently did the meticulous disposal of confiscated narcotics and psychotropic substances valued at millions of rupees besides initiating legal proceedings against various drug peddlers, including the imposition of Public Safety Acts (PSAs) and detentions under the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act. This rigorous four-day operation unfolded at MS Anmol Health Care, Vijaypur, under the overall supervision of Sh. Vinay Sharma, JKPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, alongside other committee members. The comprehensive process encapsulated the destruction of a significant cache, encompassing Heroin, a staggering 42.82 quintals of Poppy Straw, 25.800kg of Cannabis, Marijuana, over 5000 Bottles of Codeine Phosphate, 21352 prohibited capsules, and assorted tablets. This resolute action stands as a testament to the unwavering resolve of the District Police Samba in strongly combatting the pervasive drug menace, pledging to uphold the sanctity of a drug-free society while adopting a zero-tolerance stance against nefarious drug peddlers. Additionally, it is noteworthy that the attachment cum demolition drive concerning immovable properties acquired from the illegal proceeds of the narcotics trade, owned by infamous drug kingpins within the district, is already underway.
