Early Times Report
RAMNAGAR, Mar 20: The NSS (National Service Scheme) unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar orchestrated a Signature Camp as part of its 7-Day Special Winter Camp on March 20, 2024, within the college premises. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, the Principal of the college, as the chief guest.
Under the theme 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan', approximately 45 enthusiastic NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign. The initiative commenced with the rendition of the NSS anthem, setting a spirited tone for the proceedings. NSS volunteers, along with fellow students and faculty members, fervently penned special messages addressing the menace of drug abuse.
The campaign, organized under the adept guidance of Prof. Ritika Mahajan, the NSS Program Officer of the college, aimed to raise awareness and foster dialogue on the importance of combating substance abuse within society.
During his address, Principal Dr. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal underscored the pivotal role played by NSS in national and social development. He emphasized how NSS cultivates a sense of social responsibility and civic duty among volunteers, while also nurturing qualities such as leadership and democratic attitudes. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished faculty members including Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Jeevan Kumar, Prof. Parminder Kumar, and Prof. Jatinder Lal, who added their support and encouragement to the cause.
To conclude the event on a congenial note, all participants were treated to refreshments, fostering camaraderie and appreciation for their collective efforts in promoting the noble cause of a drug-free India.
The Signature Camp not only served as a platform for advocacy but also symbolized the commitment of GDC Ramnagar and its NSS unit towards fostering a healthier, more socially conscious community.
