Kejriwal's arrest testified no one above law: Kavinder
3/22/2024 10:48:09 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 22: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Friday maintained that the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister is testimony to the fact that no one is above the law.
In a sharp rebuke to Kejriwal following his arrest on corruption charges, the BJP stalwart leader emphasized that no individual, regardless of his or her position or influence, should be considered above the law.
The senior BJP functionary condemned Kejriwal's actions and stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law in a democratic society.
"The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal serves as a stark reminder that the law of the land is ultimate authority," he said while criticizing AAP leader for allegedly flouting legal procedures and attempting to evade accountability by giving two hoots to the nine-summons issued by Enforcement Directorate (ED) against him.
Kavinder said that it is unacceptable for any public servant to disregard the law and undermine the principles of justice. He questioned that if the Delhi Chief Minister was innocent then why he expressed disinterest towards respecting the scores of summons? He said if the liquor police brought in by Kejriwal was flawless then why did the Delhi Government backtracked and scrapped the same? He said that these questions are bound to haunt the AAP leader as everything does not seem to be right in this whole gamut.
Earlier, the former deputy chief minister chaired a meeting of Booth Presidents and Shakti Kendra Pramukhs of Ward No. 2. He discussed the strategy of the party to be implemented on ground to fetch maximum number of votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Kavinder asked the party workers to remain disciplined during the poll times following all the guidelines religiously claiming that the same is vital for the phenomenal outcome of the election. He praised the party activists for doing commendable work at the grass roots level to ensure that BJP crosses the 400-seat mark this time.
Later, the senior BJP leader also discussed forthcoming events and programmes to be held in different booths sharing information on activities to be taken up. Party leaders Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Rachit Khosla and several others were present during the meeting.
