At the forefront of this vigilance lies the responsibility to prevent the proliferation of exploitative practices such as the imposition of capitation fees and mandatory purchases of uniforms and stationery from specific vendors.
One of the primary concerns that demand vigilant oversight is the issue of capitation fees. This clandestine practice involves schools charging exorbitant fees beyond the official tuition to secure admissions, often exploiting the vulnerability of parents who are eager to secure quality education for their children. Such fees, often demanded under the guise of donations or development charges, not only place undue financial strain on families but also perpetuate inequalities by erecting barriers to education based on economic status.
