Cyberl Cell solves online financial fraud of Rs 50000 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 27: Cyber Cell of District Police Jammu has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to combating cybercrime by successfully solving financial fraud amounting Rs.50,000. Brief facts of the case are that complainant namely Harbans lal S/O Romita Choudhary R/O Suchetgarh received a call from unknown number Pretending himself to be a sub inspector of Himachal Pradesh police and told him that one of his nephew was stuck in jail in false case and convinced the complainant to send him Rs 50,000 for his nephew's release. Complainant transfered an amount of Rs 50,000 in one transaction into the account of fraudster. During the investigation CYBER CELL DPO JAMMU acted swiftly and Rs 49,000 out of 50,000 got put on hold through the concerned banks. Further investigation is underway. SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar IPS reiterated in his appeal to the general public to remain extra vigilant and report promptly to the National Helpline number 1930 or Cyber Cell DPO Jammu. SSP Jammu also encouraged citizens to lodge Cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and www.ceir.gov.in for lost/Stolen Mobile. Emphasizing the importance of awareness and collaboration effectively combating Cyber threats. District Police Jammu, equipped with advanced and skilled personnel, remains at the forefront in the fight against cybercriminals. |
