Samba, Mar 28: In a decisive operation, the Samba Police have intercepted a brazen attempt at bovine smuggling within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. Two perpetrators have been apprehended, and sixteen bovines have been rescued from cruel and illegal transportation. Additionally, the vehicle utilized in this unlawful act has been seized by law enforcement authorities. The breakthrough occurred when a vigilant team from the Police Post Mansar, under the leadership of the Incharge Police Post Mansar, conducted routine vehicle checks at naka Mansar. Their scrutiny led them to intercept a truck lacking proper registration details. Upon thorough inspection, the officers discovered sixteen bovines crammed inside the vehicle, subjected to inhumane conditions, and being transported without any valid authorization. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ahmad Din, son of Jaral Din, hailing from Saral tehsil Haveli district Poonch, and Shehraz Ahmad, son of Mohd Idrees, from Gujjar Kothi tehsil Thakrakot district Reasi. Both have been taken into custody, and the vehicle involved in the illicit activity has been impounded. To ensure justice prevails, a case has been registered under FIR No. 81/2024, citing violations of Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, at Police Station Samba.
