Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 4: Health Centre, SKUAST Jammu today on 04th April 2024 administered pre-exposure antirabies vaccinations to B.V.Sc. and AH students from the Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at R.S. Pura Health Centre. Prof. B. N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu was Chief Guest on the occasion. During the commencement of the program, Vice Chancellor Dr. B.N. Tripathi emphasized the importance of pre-exposure antirabies vaccination due to the lack of treatment for rabies. Dr. Tripathi further stressed the critical role of public awareness and proactive healthcare initiatives in combating rabies and ensuring community well-being. Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Student Welfare, reaffirmed the university's commitment to student health by advocating for the prioritization of pre-exposure antirabies vaccination. Dr. Rajesh Katoch, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for reinstating the vaccination program for veterinary students. Dr. Anil Gupta and Dr. Sushma Gupta, medical officers from the university, supervised the vaccination process. Prof. Tripathi also interacted with the students and subsequently embarked on a comprehensive tour of the hostels and various departments of the veterinary faculty at R.S. Pura, affirming his dedication to the holistic development and well-being of the institution's academic community. At the end, Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Student Welfare presented formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the Vice Chancellor's unwavering support and leadership in promoting the health and safety of the university's students. |
