Police apprehend notorious drug peddlers, seize heroin | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 6: In an ongoing effort to combat the scourge of drug trafficking, the Jammu Police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending notorious drug peddlers. The operation was carried out by a dedicated Police team from PP Pounichak, led by IC PP Pounichak PSI Vijay Kumar, under the command of SHO PS Domana, Inspector Arun Prakash Sharma. The arrests took place at Udheywala near Baru resort during a routine patrolling duty under the jurisdiction of PP Pounichak of PS Domana. The individuals arrested for their involvement in drug trafficking have been identified as follows: Farooq Ahmed, aged 36 years, son of Abdul Khaliq Sheik, resident of Kukernag Anantnag. Mohd Kamran Sheik, aged 29 years, son of Ab Rashid Sheik, resident of Link Road Kishtwar. During the operation, the Police recovered a substantial quantity of heroin-like NDPS from their possession. Specifically, 25 grams of heroin were seized from Farooq Ahmed, while Mohd Kamran Sheik was found in possession of 22 grams of heroin. Investigations have revealed that the arrested individuals are major drug suppliers operating in the Jammu area. They are believed to be supplying heroin to vulnerable youth in the region. The successful arrest and recovery were conducted under the guidance of SDPO Domana, Mudassar Hussain JKPS, and under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma JKPS. This significant operation underscores the relentless efforts of the Jammu Police in combating the menace of drug trafficking and safeguarding the community from its harmful effects. |
