Advanced policing techniques course concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Apr 6: In a significant stride towards enhancing law enforcement capabilities, the S.K Police Academy in Udhampur successfully concluded a comprehensive five-day course on "Utilization of Space Applications in Policing, Including Drone Technology, Interception, and Investigation" today. The course, which commenced on April 1, saw the enthusiastic participation of nineteen officers from various departments of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Designed to provide officers with cutting-edge skills and knowledge in leveraging advanced technological tools for policing, the course covered a wide array of topics. Participants were given an in-depth understanding of satellite technology, remote sensing, GIS, crime mapping tools, satellite missions, GPS, communication systems, thermal remote sensing, and drone technology. Practical demonstrations on drone usage and security aspects were also conducted, offering hands-on experience to the attendees.
Distinguished guest speakers from esteemed institutions including IIT Jammu, SMVDU Katra, and the Cyber Police Station Jammu shared their expertise and insights with the participants, enriching the learning experience and fostering collaboration between academia and law enforcement.
The valediction ceremony, held at the Academy, was graced by Sh. Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor) SKPA, as the chief guest. In his address, Gupta emphasized the indispensable role of technology in modern policing, highlighting its potential to drive individual and national growth. He expressed optimism regarding the transformative impact of drone technology on search and rescue operations and crowd monitoring during events, underscoring its significance in augmenting law enforcement efforts.
The successful coordination of the course was attributed to the diligent efforts of Sh. Rayaz Ahmed, Sr. PO, and ASI Rajinder Singh SKPA Udhampur, who ensured the seamless execution of the training program.
The conclusion of this course marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of the S.K Police Academy Udhampur to equip law enforcement personnel with state-of-the-art skills and tools necessary to combat emerging challenges effectively.
