Early Times Report KATHUA, Apr 8: The Department of Chemistry at Government Degree College for Boys, Kathua, orchestrated a vibrant Poster Making Competition today, aligning with the theme of "My Health, My Right." Under the esteemed guidance of Principal Prof. Seema Mir, students showcased their creativity and commitment to health awareness. Addressing the students, Prof. Seema Mir underscored the pivotal role of health in shaping individuals' lives, emphasizing the necessity of regular monitoring and maintenance of physical well-being. She likened the human body to a complex machinery, advocating for regular medical check-ups to ensure optimal functioning of its various organs. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different streams and semesters, who utilized the platform to express their perspectives on health through artistic posters. Prof. Jagdish Kumar, Head of the Department of Chemistry, urged students to embrace healthy lifestyles, shunning junk food and cultivating habits of exercise and yoga for holistic well-being. He emphasized the significance of mental health, advocating for the inclusion of meditation practices in daily routines. The event was expertly coordinated by Prof. Shrdha Anand, Prof. Arun Kumar, Prof. Raj Kumari, Dr. Neha Sharma, and Dr. Shivangi Sharma. The judging panel, comprising Dr. Sanjay Karlupia (HoD Geology) and Prof. Ravinder Kour (Department of Physics), meticulously evaluated the entries, selecting the top three posters based on creativity and relevance to the theme.
