Early Times Report SAMBA, Apr 13: In a decisive crackdown on bovine smuggling activities, Samba Police intercepted and thwarted two separate smuggling attempts, resulting in the arrest of two smugglers and the rescue of fourteen bovines. The first operation unfolded near Bindu Paida, Mansar, where a vigilant police team from Police Post Mansar, led by the Incharge PP Mansar, intercepted a group of smugglers attempting to transport seven bovines towards the Kashmir valley on foot. The timely intervention prevented the cruel smuggling attempt. The apprehended smuggler, identified as Anzar, son of Noor Hussain from Kokernag, district Anantnag, has been placed under arrest. A case has been registered under FIR No. 96/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act at Police Station Samba, marking the commencement of the investigation. In a parallel operation, another police team from Police Post Goran, under the leadership of the Incharge, intercepted a bovine smuggling attempt near Dhaki road, Sumb. The team successfully arrested a smuggler, Tanvir Ahmed, son of Junaid Ahmed from Hundar tehsil Arnas, district Reasi, and rescued seven bovines intended for smuggling by foot. A case has been registered under FIR No. 97/2024 U/S 188 IPC at Police Station Samba, initiating further investigation into the matter.
