Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 13: In a significant political development, Rattan Lal Bhan, Chairman of the All India Kashmiri Hindu Forum (A.I.K.H.F.), along with several prominent members, joined the Congress party today. The delegation, including Brij Lal Hali, State President, Omkar Nath Raina, State General Secretary, and Baby Kaul, President of Women Wing J&K, visited the Congress headquarters in Jammu to formalize their association with the party. The Forum, boasting a membership of over ten thousand individuals, adds substantial strength to Congress's grassroots network. Joining them was another prominent figure, social worker Rajesh Dogra, along with a considerable number of supporters. Dogra, formerly associated with the BJP, made the transition to the Congress fold, signifying a significant shift in political allegiance. The induction ceremony was graced by the presence of PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani, Senior Vice President Shri Ravinder Sharma, Vice President Naresh Gupta, General Secretary (Org) Narinder Gupta, Media Coordinators Kapil Singh and Neeraj Gupta, Secretary Michael Wazir, and other senior leaders, who warmly welcomed the new entrants into the party. Addressing the gathering, PCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani emphasized the growing disillusionment among the populace with the BJP-led government at the center, citing failures on various fronts. He underscored Congress's historical legacy of service and sacrifices for the nation, positioning it as the beacon of hope for those disenchanted with the current political dispensation. Wani highlighted Congress's progressive policies, commitment to democratic values, and staunch advocacy for secularism, asserting that only Congress could steer Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the entire nation, towards peace, progress, and prosperity by upholding the secular fabric of the country. Expressing concern over the aftermath of the abrogation of special status and the erosion of rights, Wani urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to use their votes judiciously to hold the BJP accountable for its actions. He called upon voters to support the I.N.D.I.A. alliance candidates to safeguard the rights and interests of the region. |
