Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Apr 25: To educate the farmers regarding scientific cultivation practices of maize crop, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar SKUAST Jammu today conducted one day training programme under Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) on maize crop at village Bhandarkoot of the District under the guidance of Dr Amrish Vaid Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. During the programme the participants were detailed about recommended practices with respect to land preparation, quality seed, sowing time and method, spacing, nutrient management, insect pest and disease management of maize crop by Dr Narinder Paul Incharge KVK Kishtwar. He also advocated for adoption of integrated approach for management of maize cut worm which causes huge damage to the crop at the initial stage. Farmers queries regarding use of farm saved seed, insect pest incidence and low productivity were discussed in detail. Bansi Lal, Komal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Lokesh Sharma, Somi Raj, Ramesh Kumar, Santosha Devi, Tara Devi, Babu Ram were present during the programme. |
