| Reasi police recovers illicit liquor, accused arrested | | |

Reasi, Apr 26: Continuing the drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor launched by District Police Reasi under Operation JEEVANDAN. Reasi Police recovered illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger involved in smuggling of illicit liquor.
Police party of Police Station Reasi laid a surprise naka at Kambal Danga area, on seeing Police party one person tried to flee in suspicious circumstances, was chased and apprehended. On search of bag carried by him 52 quarters of JK Special Whiskey measuring 180 ml each were recovered from the possession of person namely Baijnath S/o Radheyshyam Nausad R/o Gorakhpur, U.P. A/P Gadhal Tehsil and District Reasi.
On this, FIR No. 75/2024 U/s 48(a) Excise Act registered at Police Station Reasi. Investigation initiated to unearth forward and backward linkages. Arrest and recovery was made by SHO Reasi Inspr. Chaman Gorka under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Reasi Sh. Neeraj Padyar-JKPS.
SSP Reasi MS Mohita Sharma -IPS while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers and liquor smugglers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis, whereas Reasi Police also started Anti-Drug Helpline Number 9070907017 for general public where identity of caller will be kept secret.
SSP Reasi while giving tough message for drug peddlers and liquor smugglers added that there is no space for Drug Peddlers in Reasi. Drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our generation and must return to mainstream otherwise they will be dealt with Iron hand. |
