JAMMU, May 1: The Department of Civil Engineering Organized an Extension lecture on 'Hydrostatic Forces on 1ST May 2024 at Yogananda College of Engineering &Technology, Jammu. Er. Rajnish Magotra HOD (Civil Engg) welcomed the guest and said that the prime aim of conducting workshops, Extension lectures, Industrial visits and seminars is to create awareness , deep Learning and appropriate problem solving skills to the young budding engineers .The session began with presenting bouquet to the guest Speaker by Er. Dinesh Gupta , Dean Academics, YCET and Er. Rajnish Magotra, HOD, DOCE, YCET.
The resource person Er. Ajay Khajuria, Retd.AEE, Shared in depth knowledge about fluid mechanics and the principles of Hydrostatic Forces. He discussed. About static Fluid, Its properties, Nature and direction of hydrostatic forces. He said that Hydrostatic forces acts on the basis of Magnitude (on surface like plain, curved whereas in plane surface there are three conditions i.e Horizontal, vertical & inclined. He explained pressure diagram.
The session was inaugurated by Er Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics, YCET . This session was attended by 50 students of 4th, 6th Civil Engineering & Mechanical Engineering. Prof. KR Sharma, Er. Loveneesh Talwar, HOD (Electrical Engineering. Er. Inderdeep Singh, HOD (Mech. Engg), faculty members of both Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
Management (JGEI), appreciated the efforts of Civil Engg department for their valued support in making the Session highly fruitful and successful. Department thanked the resource person for sparing his precious time from his busy schedule and sharing rich knowledge. The session was well coordinated by Er. Ankita Singh, Assistant Professor and formal vote of thanks was presented by Er. Manjula Sharma, Asst. TPO.
