5/3/2024 11:06:18 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 3: Sikh Progressive Front (SPF) held an emergency meeting under the leadership of S Balvinder Singh, President, along with other prominent members including S Manjit Singh, Gen Secretary, and S Surinder Singh Wazir, Vice President, to address the gruesome murder of Avtar Singh, son of S Balbir Singh, at Greater Kailash. The incident, which occurred in the presence of police officials, allegedly involved land grabbers, sparking outrage among the Sikh community.
The SPF strongly condemned the incident and criticized the apparent lapses on the part of the police department and revenue authorities, which, they believe, have emboldened such acts of lawlessness. They called upon the UT administration, led by Honorable LG Sh. Manoj Singh, and the Director General of Police to take swift action against the perpetrators, including retired and serving police personnel and bureaucrats allegedly involved.
In their demands, the SPF urged for immediate relief to the deceased's family by ensuring the transfer of the disputed land's proprietary rights to the rightful owner. Additionally, they demanded employment for one dependent member of Avtar Singh's family, free education for his children, and a cash compensation of Rupees One Crore to his next of kin.
