JUIT establishes new benchmark in Technical Higher Education

NEW DELHI, May 3: Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh organized a press meet on 3rd May, 2024 with an aim to disseminate the achievement of the university in setting new benchmark in higher technical education in the state of Himachal Pradesh and to highlight its endeavors to attract students from the region as well as the neighboring states ofHimachal Pradesh as a destination for quality higher education.
Press meet started with a welcome note by Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, Media In-charge, JUIT.
Maj. Gen. Rakesh Bassi (Retd.), Registrar and Dean of Students elaborated on the genesis of establishment of JUIT and its exclusive nature vis-à-vis other private universities in the state, infrastructure and hostel management details with various amenities and avenues of co curricular activities provided to the students.
Dean (Academics and Research) Prof. Ashok Kumar Gupta mentioned about various programs offered by JUIT at bachelors, masters and doctoral level which includes BTech, BSc, BBA, MTech, MSc and PhD.
Vice Chancellor of JUIT Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma in his discourse deliberated on the vision of JUIT where focus is on research, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. Establishment of Directorate of research and Innovations and Ramanujan Supercomputing facility are some of the testaments for future vision. Prof. Sharma mentioned that with innovative learning, JUIT students are not only selected for internships at various IITs but also in Amazon and Google. 8000+ alumni out of which 26.6% settled abroad is another testament as they are making their family proud.

NAAC A+ Grade:
One of the notable achievementsof JUIT is the NAAC A+ accreditation for five years, with CGPA of 3.40 announcedby NAAC on 25 April 2024. This accreditation underscores the university's unwavering dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality in education and research. It now opens up vistas for JUIT to offer various other certificate courses and programs.
International Rankings:
At the international stage, JUIT is amongst the premier band of universities in the world. In the prestigious Times Higher EducationWorld Rankings it finds place amongst the top 801- 1000 band universities in the world. QS World Rankings Asia of 238 rank and Times Asia Ranking of 251-300 band only corroborate the genuineness of its recognitions. These accolades reflect JUIT's standing as a globally recognized institution committed to providing world-class education and research opportunities.
Multiple MoUs:
With Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with various institutions/ organizations and host of foreign universities, JUIT aims to facilitate research collaborations and strengthen its ties with leading industries and organizationstobridge the gap between academia and industry. This ensures that its curriculum remains relevant and responsive to the needs of the job market and facilitates placement of students. It provides JUIT faculty and students with opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research projects, access state-of-the-art facilities and contribute to the advancement of knowledge with a conducive environment for innovation, research, and academic excellence in various fields.
Future Vision of JUIT:
During the press meet, VC outlined the vision for the future of JUIT. He emphasized JUIT's commitment to continuously enhancing the quality of education, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, and strengthening collaborations with industry partners and research institutions. He also stated that the university aims to meet the NEP norms of university with at least 3000 students and varied disciplines in near future.
Impact on the Region:
JUIT's prominence in technical higher education is not only a source of pride for the university but also for Himachal Pradesh. By producing highly skilled graduates and conducting cutting-edge research, JUIT contributes to the region's socio-economic development and helps meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the technology sector. The effort of the university are to offer quality in education and facilities to arrest the migration of youth from H.P. purely for education and to attract students from the plains to choose H.P. as their preferred destination for Higher Education.
