Early Times Report JAMMU, May 4: GDC Marheen's Road Safety Club and NSS volunteers collaborated to host a Seminar on "Road Safety and its Precautions" on the 4th of May, 2024. Spearheaded by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Anupama Gupta, the event aimed to raise awareness among students about crucial road safety measures. Dr. Gupta, in her address, emphasized the need for proactive measures to promote road safety. She urged NSS volunteers, youth, and students to champion initiatives promoting helmet usage, seat belt adherence, respect for zebra crossings and traffic lights, and the prohibition of underage driving. Highlighting the alarming rate of road accidents, Dr. Gupta underscored the importance of creating awareness among the younger generation to prevent further loss of precious lives. Dr. Arun Dev Singh, NSS Programme Officer and convener of the Road Safety Club, echoed Dr. Gupta's sentiments. He encouraged students to leverage the government's resources and guidance on traffic rules, urging them to become proactive agents of change. The seminar provided a platform for NSS volunteers Neha, Kanika, Surekha, and Dharamveer to share their perspectives on road safety, addressing queries and concerns raised by fellow volunteers. The presence and participation of dedicated faculty members further enriched the seminar. Dr. Balbinder, Dr. Munisha, Dr. Shallu, Prof. Preeti, Prof. Tripti, Dr. Barneet, Dr. Reemi, and others lent their support, emphasizing the collective responsibility in promoting road safety.
