Action against drugs peddling: Property worth crores attached in Rajouri town | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, May 4: In a major action against drugs peddling and to tighten noose against those involved in this unlawful act, Jammu and Kashmir police has seized / attached property worth crores of rupees in Rajouri town. The property is linked in a case of NDPS that is registered in police station Rajouri. Police said that the property is related to accused namely Vikal Chogga son of Vimal Chogga resident of Ward 12 Rajouri. He is booked in a case FIR no 380/2023 U/Ss 8/21/22/25/27 - A of NDPS Act in PS Rajouri. The said property comprising of multi storey business establishment is situated in the heart of the Rajouri city is valued at around 1 crore and 74 lakhs rupees. The attached property is four storied and is situated in the heart of city. Police said that the mentioned accused had erected this empire from the money he accumulated by selling drugs to the local youths. One Eco car valued at 7 lakh rupees bearing registration number JK11D 3289 also stand attached in the case earlier. The action of attachment / seizure of property was made by a police team headed by Additional SP Rajouri Musadiq Basu alongwith Deputy SP Headquarter Ashwani Sharma, Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani, PSI Sahil Choudhary alongwith Executive Magistrate Sham Lal. SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) said that Rajouri Police reiterates it's commitment towards eradication of drugs peddling menace from society and tighten noose against those involved in it. More similar action in times to come is expected, he said. SSP Rajouri said that there is zero tolerance policy of J&K Police against drug peddlers and it is evident from massive action taken in Rajouri district in past. |
