Early Times Report JAMMU, May 6: The Department of Computer Applications, under the auspices of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, in collaboration with the District Employment and Counselling Center Jammu, organized a Certificate Distribution function for the Microsoft Certified Week-Long Python Course. The event, held today, recognized 36 students who successfully completed the course. Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, the Principal of the college, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The course, part of Microsoft India Corporation's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, aimed to enhance students' skills in Python programming. Mrs. Rajni Thakur, a senior IT trainer, served as the resource person for the course, under the supervision of Prof. Monika Mahajan, Head of the Department of Computer Applications. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh urged students to seize every opportunity to enhance their skill sets and broaden their knowledge base. He commended Prof. Monika Mahajan and her team for their commendable initiative and expressed hope for more such programs in the future to empower students and align them with their peers across the nation. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Monika Mahajan, followed by Mehak from BCA Semester 6 as the compere. Ms. Shruti Pandita from BCA Semester 6 presented the report on the course proceedings. Several faculty members, including Prof. Pawan Gupta, Dr. Reena Rani, Prof. Ashraf Nawaz, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Prof. Naresh Kumar, Prof. Sangeeta, Prof. Bharti, and Prof. Aman, graced the occasion. Representatives from the District Employment and Counselling Center Jammu, Mamta Sharma, Navdeep Kour, and Anjali Pandey, also attended the event. Technical support for the program was provided by Mr. Kulveer Singh, ensuring the smooth execution of the event and highlighting the collaborative efforts to empower students with valuable skills. |
