Early Times Report JAMMU, May 7: The NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur, along with the Department of Sports and Physical Education, celebrated World Athletics Day by organizing a thrilling 100-meter sprint on the college sports ground. Over 10 enthusiastic athletes from the college participated in the event, showcasing their passion for athletics and sportsmanship. World Athletics Day is observed globally to promote the sport and its values of participation, unity, peace, and fair play. It serves as a platform to inspire individuals of all ages and abilities to engage in athletics, whether as athletes, coaches, officials, or fans. The program witnessed the presence of faculty members, college students, and NSS volunteers, adding to the vibrancy of the event. In an exciting display of talent, Gorav Sharma from semester II clinched the first position, followed by Adarsh Sharma and Parb Malpotra, both from semester II, securing the second position. Abhishek Sharma and Arfan Ali, also from semester II, secured the third position, showcasing their remarkable speed and determination. Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, the Principal of the college, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the winning athletes and commended the Sports committee and NSS Unit for organizing such a spirited event. The seamless execution of the program was made possible with the wholehearted support and coordination of senior faculty members including Prof. Anita Jamwal, Prof. Mamta Gupta, and Dr. Anoop Bhagat. The event was meticulously coordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat, the HOD of Education and NSS Coordinator, along with Dr. Manoj Heer, Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, Prof. Poonam Kundan, Dr. Jan Mohd.
