Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 7: Brigadier PS Cheema, SM, VSM, Group Commander NCC HQ Jammu, graced Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur with his insightful presence, marking his maiden visit to interact with the NCC Cadets. The event, orchestrated under the able guidance of Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college, commenced with a formal welcome where the principal extended a heartfelt greeting with a bouquet. During the interactive session, Principal Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta acquainted Brigadier Cheema with the college's achievements, emphasizing the pivotal role of NCC in fostering academic excellence and extracurricular activities. Brig. Cheema, in turn, commended the cadets for their inquisitive and receptive attitude, urging them to pursue their passions with determination, as attitude determines altitude in life. Emphasizing the importance of discipline, Brig. Cheema shared insights from his successful career as an Army Officer, attributing his achievements to self-discipline, attitude, and energy. He encouraged unity among the cadets, highlighting the NCC motto "Unity and Discipline." Following the interaction, Brig Cheema, accompanied by Col Rajesh Jasrotia and Col Munish Jasrotia, conferred ranks to outstanding cadets. Vinesh Kumar, Asish Singh, and Vinay Kumar from J&K 2 Boys Battalion, along with Swati Thakur, Kriti, and Rita from J&K 2 Girls Battalion, were honored with SUO and JUO ranks, respectively. The event, meticulously organized under the supervision of Prof. (Capt.) Shivani Sharma, ANO J&K 2 Girls Battalion, Lt Dr. Revika Arora, Prof. Jasmeet Kour, and others, concluded with heartfelt thanks extended by Prof Vijay Kumar, ANO J&K 2 Boys Battalion, to the chief guest and all attendees. |
