JAMMU, May 7: In a concerted effort to combat the scourge of drug addiction and promote a healthier lifestyle, Bethel Living Word School, in collaboration with The Bethel Charitable Trust, organized a pivotal Drug De-Addiction Rally in Qasim Nagar. The event, graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Vinod Sharma, Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation, and SHO Vijay Verma, aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of illicit drug use among students and youth in the area.
The participation of prominent figures such as Sophia Bhatti, Principal of Bethel Living Word School, and John Roques Bhatti, Chairman of The Bethel Charitable Trust, underscored the significance of addressing the pressing issue of drug addiction and its societal impact. Students and youth actively engaged in the rally, gaining valuable insights into the dangers associated with substance abuse.
Sophia Bhatti emphasized the school's commitment to holistic education and student well-being, stating, "Events like these are crucial to equip our young generation with knowledge and awareness about the harmful consequences of drug abuse."
John Roques Bhatti expressed satisfaction with the community turnout and engagement, remarking, "It is heartening to see the enthusiastic participation of the students, staff, and other officials in initiatives that promote a drug-free lifestyle."
Dr. Vinod Sharma and SHO Vijay Verma provided valuable insights into the legal and health aspects of drug addiction, urging attendees to steer clear of illicit substances and seek help if needed.
