Jammu, May 9: The Director of Agriculture, Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen convened a pivotal meeting with officials from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to explore collaborative avenues for the formulation of innovative projects under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), specifically focusing on Hi-Tech polyhouses for vegetables and floriculture. The meeting focused on propelling agricultural growth and fostering sustainable practices in the region. Notable attendees included Shri Sanjeev Sharma, General Manager NABARD, Shri Shubam, Assistant Manager NABARD, Shri Vikas Padha, Agronomist Vegetable Development Scheme, and DSSO Shri Suresh Khajuria. During the session, discussions were centered on the establishment of various pioneering projects aimed at augmenting agricultural productivity and promoting modern techniques in the sector. Notable among these projects were the proposals for setting up as well as the development of a Vegetable Nursery under Hi Tec Poly house at SM Farm, Chakroi. Additionally, deliberations were held on the Jammu Province Agriculture Experimental Farm (JPAE), aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity through integrated and holistic approaches. Recognizing the significance of these initiatives, the Director of Agriculture, Jammu, Shri A.S Reen emphasized the importance of strategic collaborations with NABARD to leverage resources and expertise for the successful implementation of these projects In response, Shri Sanjeev Sharma, General Manager, NABARD expressed their commitment to supporting these endeavors and assured their full cooperation in facilitating the implementation of the proposed projects. Through innovative projects like the High-Tech Poly Houses and the Vegetable Nursery, the partnership aims to catalyze positive change and create new avenues for growth in the agricultural sector. |
