| Kotwal launches religious magazine | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8- The first Hindi magazine based on religious, spiritual, cultural and social cum Jammu heritage was launched today by Jammu Yatri Trust at an impressive function here. The Magazine titled ‘Ganga Sangreh’ was released jointly by Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Dr. Ved Ghai a prominent social activist. Justice K K Gupta (Retd) Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court and Pawan Shastri President Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust presided over the function. The first issue of the magazine carries highly informative and thought provoking articles by distinguished writers of Jammu, learned scholars of Hindu religious heritage and mythology. Pawan Shastri is the chief editor of the magazine while there is a panel of editorial board comprising Hindi scholars, religious preachers and writers of the state. Speaking at the inaugural function, Shastri said that their endeavour has been to bring home to the common people the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Hindus as well as the hidden meanings behind Hindu mythology. Though its periodical’ Ganga Sangreh’ the effort will be made to acquaint the common people about the importance of sacred river Ganga in their day to day life as well as to highlight the activities of the Jammu Yatri Bhwan Haridwar. He added that the magazine will also carry two monthly religious calendars to inform the people of important Hindu religious days.
