Early Times Report

Jammu, May 12: To celebrate Mother’s Day, an event was organized at GDC, Udhampur on 11th of May 2024, by the Women Development/ Empowerment Cell in collaboration with the Department of English and NSS unit of the college to celebrate the unconditional sacrifices of the mothers and to show that without women, the very structure of the society cannot stand. Under the guidance of Worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr). Romesh Kr. Gupta a poster-making competition was organized on the related theme. Students participated in the competition and gave a free vent to their expressions by depicting multi-faceted contribution and sacrifices a mother make for her children and family. The Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr). Romesh Gupta addressed the students and expressed his views regarding the role of women as a mother and the sacrifices they make on each stage of their lives. He also added that a mother is a goddess who gave us our lives through infinite sacrifices that no one else can ever do that much for anybody. Nothing in the entire universe could be compared with our mothers. A mother is the most reliable person in our lives.
She is a person who we can trust blindly in every situation. It isn’t easy to imagine a world without a mother because she is the reason behind the creation of this entire world. She stands behind her child for the support they want, and we must give her the support when needed. Behind every person’s success is their mother’s caring and helping hand. Without a mother, life seems impossible. She is the person who teaches her child to walk on their own feet.
The event was concluded by a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Anita Sharma (Convener, Women Development Cell). The members of the Cell and other staff members were also present and graced the event.
