Bovine smuggler apprehended, 20 bovines rescued by police in Samba

SAMBA, May 14: In a proactive move against bovine smuggling, the Samba Police successfully thwarted an attempt and apprehended a bovine smuggler, rescuing twenty bovines from their clutches. The operation, conducted within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, marks another significant step in the ongoing crackdown against illicit activities in the region.
Led by the Incharge of Police Post Mansar, a dedicated police party intercepted the smuggling attempt along the Channi Mansar road, preventing the illegal transportation of bovines by foot. The swift action led to the apprehension of the culprit and the safe rescue of the animals, which were subsequently relocated to a secure facility.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mohd Yaseen, hailing from Korga Korgasal tehsil Dansal district Jammu. A case has been registered against him under FIR No. 141/2024 U/S 188 IPC at Police Station Samba, and investigations are underway to uncover further details regarding the smuggling operation.
This successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Samba Police to combatting criminal activities, particularly those related to animal smuggling. By swiftly responding to such incidents and apprehending perpetrators, law enforcement agencies aim to uphold the rule of law and ensure the safety and welfare of both citizens and animals in the region.
