Police foiled narcotic smuggling bids, 2 FIRs registered | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, May 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police cracking down on Narcotics smuggling, District Police Ramban under Operation Sanjeevani under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar IPS, foiled two Narcotics smuggling bids, arrested two persons with Poppy straw like sunstance in the jurisdictions of PS Chanderkote and arrested one person with Charas like substance in the Jurisdictions of PS Batote. A police party of Police Station Chanderkote headed by PSI Gourav while conducting routine checking intercepted one Scooty bearing Registration No. PB07CB/3332. On questioning the rider disclosed his identity as Harpreet Singh son of Sudarshan Singh resident of Mananhana Tehsil Garhshankar Distt. Hoshiarpur Punjab and pillion rider disclosed his identity as Jagdish Singh son of Jagtar Singh resident of Baddi Miani Tehsil Tanda Distt Hoshiarpur Punjab. During the process of checking poppy straw like substance approximately 5 kgs was recovered from the above said scooty. In another instance Police Party of PS Batote headed by PSI Mukesh Singh while conducting routine checking intercepted one person who disclosed his identity as Tanbir Ahmed son of Abdual Karim resident of Ballihote Tehsil and District Ramban.During the process of checking Charas like substance approximately 55 grams was recovered from his possession. Subsequently a case FIR No.67 /2024 was registered at PS Chanderkote and FIR No.68/2024 registered at Police Station Batote under relevant sections of NDPS Act. 03 accused persons named above have been arrested and contrabands/vehicle seized, investigation of the case going on to prove backward and forward linkages. |
