Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, May 29: The Post-Graduate Department of English at Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur hosted a memorable farewell ceremony for its graduating post-graduate students on May 29, 2024. The event was a joyous occasion filled with reflections on the students' academic journeys, expressions of gratitude, and celebrations of their remarkable achievements. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Principal, Prof (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, who addressed the gathering with words of wisdom and encouragement. He commended the graduates for their hard work and perseverance, urging them to continue their quest for knowledge and excellence. "Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. Remember, the education you have received here is the foundation for your future success. Keep striving, keep learning, and keep making us proud," Dr. Gupta remarked.
Prof. B.L. Thakur, HOD, Department of Education, in his inspirational address, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and the value of education. "In education, there are always commas. You have to learn continuously. The education that you have received here will help you perform in your job and life. In my opinion, rich is one who is well educated. You will get recognition when you are well-informed and well-sensitized. The students who have done their post-graduation from this college should not feel that they have missed out by not studying at a university. Prof. Thakur stated, quoting, "Manzil se aagebadhkar manzil talaashkar, mil jaayetumkodariyatohsamundartalaashkar," encouraging students to always aim higher.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Sonia Khajuria, delivered a heartfelt speech commending the graduates for their perseverance, dedication, and outstanding accomplishments. "Today, we celebrate not only your achievements but also the spirit of perseverance and determination that brought you here," Dr. Khajuria remarked. She highlighted the significant milestones the students have reached during their time at the institution and extended gratitude to the juniors for meticulously organizing the farewell. "Wherever you go, always remember that your college's pride is on your shoulders. The respect you gain in society reflects what you have taken from your institution. The confidence you have attained from this college will help you survive in the real world. Wish you all the best, and may you keep this bond alive," she added.
