KPs participation in ongoing Parliament elections, a remarkable step | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 29: It is historical after Exodus of Kashmiri Pandits that they exercised their right of franchise remarkably in the ongoing Parliamentary elections in the union Territory of J&K and outside for the first time in last more than thirty four years. In a statement issued today, socio Political activist Vinod Pandita has Said that with the significant participation of Kashmiri Pandits in first 6 phases of voting in ongoing parliament elections indicates that not only they have realised the importance of casting their votes but also their involvement in making J& K , one of the most progressive part of the country. He also appreciated the role of Election Commission of India in facilitating the process of easing certain ways and means for exercising the right of their franchise quite smoothly. Pandita further added that this will surely have a larger impact on the ensuing Assembly elections of J&K as the vote bank of Kashmiri Pandits will prove a significant and decisive role in various Assembly segments of J&K as well will strengthen the base of democracy. He also appealed the concerned authorities to ensure that all left out KP voters are registered before coming assembly Elections so that their en- mass participation is ensured in the coming assembly elections and other elections over all figure of KP voters will surely get increased from one to two lakhs. Pandita opined that various political parties would be watching this significant development of Kashmiri Pandits participating in the current Parliamentary elections and they may sponsor candidates among KP community in the ensuing Assembly elections for which the community social organizations must get united under one umbrella which has now become the need of the hour for achieving their political objective. |
