Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 30: Delhi Public School, Udhampur proudly hosted the first ever District Udhampur Kalarippayattu Championship 2024 on May 29, 2024. This highly anticipated event aims to celebrate and promote the ancient martial art of Kalarippayattu, showcasing the remarkable talent and dedication of athletes from the district. Opening ceremony began at 10 a.m. The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony was Pro Vice Chairman of the School, Dr. J. C. Gupta. The championship culminated at 3:30 in the noon with a cultural Bonanza presented by talented students of Delhi Public School Udhampur. DIPSITES presented Semi classical and Fusion dance firms in front of dignitaries that received inflated appreciation by the guests. It was followed by the Prize Distribution ceremony to acknowledge the hard work of mentors and their teams. Chief guest for the closing ceremony was Balwant Singh Mankotia , Ex MLA Udhampur and Patron of Distt. Association of Kalarippayatu. He was happy to witness the skills and expertise showcased by the participants. He further added that sports are the need of the hour to keep oneself mentally and physically fit.
