Srinagar, May 30: One person died and 14 others were injured when a tourist bus in which they were travelling turned turtle on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway near the Pampore area of Jammu Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday. Traffic police officials said the ill-fated bus was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu when it turned turtle at Tanchbagh on the highway after the driver lost control over it, resulting in the death of a tourist and injuries to 14 others. The deceased has been identified as Ram Nath Kumar, son of Nageswar Kumar, a resident of Bihar. The injured have been shifted to a nearby health center for treatment, where some of the critically injured were referred to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in Srinagar. Soon after the accident, the locals and the police launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to a nearby health facility for first aid. |
