JAMMU, June 6: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday called upon the party cadre to intensify efforts and concentrate on the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering after felicitating newly elected MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, who won Jammu seat with impressive margin, the BJP stalwart leader said that after phenomenal performance in the Lok Sabha polls, the time has come to focus on upcoming Assembly polls as the announcement of its schedule is on cards and the election commission can declare the dates anytime.
Kavinder called upon the party workers to engage with the public, understand their concerns, and communicate the party’s vision and achievements. He said that BJP cadre should set the target of making the government on its own and for that hard work and dedication of the workers are prerequisites. “We have a significant opportunity to bring about meaningful change and development in Jammu and Kashmir, and this can only be achieved through a concerted and focused effort,” he said, highlighting the party’s commitment to the welfare and progress of the people.
“BJP has always stood for the upliftment and empowerment of the people. From infrastructural development to ensuring security and enhancing tourism, the party has taken numerous steps to improve the lives of people in the UT”, he said, adding that it is crucial that party cadre reach out to every citizen, listen to his or her issues, and assure about party’s commitment to resolving them all.
The former deputy Chief Minister said that Saffron party’s grassroots presence and connection with the people will be the key to its success in the upcoming elections. He said that time has come to channelize energy, enthusiasm, and dedication towards ensuring a decisive victory in the Assembly polls. He said that it is the time to mobilize resources and form strategies for the upcoming elections, aiming at a strong mandate from the people of the UT.
