| Weeklong celebration of Environment Day -2024 concluded at GDC, Ramban | | |  Early Times Report
RAMBAN, June 8: Eco club and NSS unit of Govt. Degree College, Ramban conducted a week long activities to commemorate world Environment day-2024 w.e.f. 3rd -8th June, 2024 under the patronage of Worthy Principal of the College, Prof. Archana Kaul. This initiative is part of the college's broader efforts to integrate environmental education into their curriculum and community activities.
The students are actively participated in different activities like plantation drive, campus beautification, cleanliness drive, symposium on environment and environmental education session. These efforts are part of the college's ongoing commitment to environmental activities.
The activities started with the plantation drive in campus and its surrounding areas on day one. On the second day a cleanliness drive was conducted in the college premises in which around 30 students participated. On day three a symposium on the theme " Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought resilience was held in which 5 students of Eco-Club of the college participated in debate competition. A Mushira on Pariyavaran ki shrukhsha- Duniya ki Surakhsha was organized on the 4th day of the event. On the concluding day of this week long events a field visit to Baglihar Dam and Baglihar Hydroelectric power plant was organised in which 30 students including faculty members visited the site
